DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
The Chemical Engineering (ChE) Department of UP Diliman was established in 1956. It has since been the leader in chemical engineering education in the country with focus on academic excellence and extension programs.
The Department offers degree programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The Ph.D. program aims to train those who wish to be educators in the field of chemical engineering. The Ph.D. graduate is capable of engaging in academic research that advances knowledge in various fields of chemical engineering. The MS ChE program seeks to endow students with advanced chemical engineering education while the undergraduate program BS ChE provides the basic education for entry into the profession.
The Department envisions to be an institution of higher education that fosters academic excellence through teaching, research, and extension service in chemical engineering, thereby contributing to national progress and global innovation.
The UP Diliman Department of Chemical Engineering commits:
- To produce world-class chemical engineering graduates.

The ChE Department considers four (4) application areas to encompass the variety of engineering challenges: environment, energy, biomedicine and high-value products, and technologies for essential chemicals.
