International Energy Innovation Challenge 2016 – University Category

The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) will once again host the National Engineers Day (NED) 2016 from 23 – 24 July 2016 at HDB Hub Atrium inSingapore.

One of the highlights is the International Energy Innovation Challenge open to universities all over the world providing an opportunity for university students worldwide to share knowledge and experiences and expand their network brought together by a passion for engineering.  Your participation in the competition will also serve to interest and excite other youths to embark on an exploration into the multi-faceted and fascinating world of engineering.

The Challenge:   Design or Invent a product/project to demonstrate the use of alternative sources of energy with focus on climate change and environmental sustainability

The International EIC Competition is open to universities all over the world and will culminate in  project displays, final judging and awards presentation at the National Engineers Day 2016 in Singapore from 23 to 24 July 2016.  The prizes will be presented by Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources & Ministry of Health, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.
        1st Prize: S$8,000 + Trophy
        2nd Prize: S$5,000 + Trophy
        3rd Prize: S$3,000 + Trophy
        Up to 5 Commendation Prizes: S$1,000 each

Schools are invited to submit initial project proposal by 22 April 2016. The proposal must include the following:
·         Background
·         Project Description
·         Prototype proposal
·         Cost-benefits analysis
