RESEARCH LABORATORIES

The Department of Chemical Engineering actively contributes to the University’s mandate of being a leading research institution. It boasts thirteen research laboratories led by experts in various chemical engineering and related disciplines. Additionally, the Department hosts the Chemical Engineering Analytical Laboratory (CEAL), which provides analytical services to the University, the industry, and other institutions.
CEAL is equipped with advanced instruments including a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), a Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscope, and a Universal Testing Machine (UTM). It also features gas chromatographs (FID, TCD, MS), ion chromatographs, and a high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC). Furthermore, the Department has a Kjeldahl apparatus, a Karl Fischer apparatus, and an atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS).

For biological studies, the Department houses a real-time PCR machine, a digital gradient electrophoresis system, shaking incubators, and refrigerated incubators.
