Registration and Other Processes
Academic Calendar AY 2025-2026
REGISTRATION
- Log in to the Computerized Registration System (CRS) using your UP Mail.
- Fill out your student profile.
- Go to the Pre-enlistment page to enlist your desired subjects. See the mechanics on pre-enlistment. If you successfully enlist all your desired subjects, lock your enlistment; otherwise, waitlist.
- If you waitlisted and later secured all your desired subjects, make sure to lock your enlistment.
- Inform your registration adviser that you have locked your enlistment so you can be post-advised.
- Once post-advised, you will automatically be enrolled.
- If you wish to add or remove classes after the registration period, you may undergo Change of Matriculation. See the mechanics on Change of Matriculation.
Other Guidelines
Basis of Year Level Standing
- 1st-year – must have taken or is currently taking Chem 16/16.1 and Math 21
- 2nd-year – must have taken or is currently taking ChemE 106 and ChemE 122
- 3rd-year – must have taken or is currently taking ChemE 128 and ChemE 135
- 4th-year – must have taken or is currently taking ChemE 146 and ChemE 151
General Education (GE Courses)
Students are required to take nine GE courses (27 units), seven of which are required courses (ARTS 1, Eng 13/Speech 30, FIL 40, Kas 1, Philo 1, Soc Sci 1/Soc Sci 2, and STS 1/DRMAPS) while the other two are GE Electives (i.e., any GE courses that a student can choose from the list of GE courses offered by different units in the university). These courses can be taken anytime, but the registration adviser will advise the student to prioritize taking/finishing the seven (7) prescribed GEs in the BS ChE curriculum.
Free Electives
Students are required to take 9 units of courses that they can choose from certain areas or disciplines provided that contribute to the students’ program of study:
Students must take 3 units of courses that may be credited as Science & Technology (S&T) Elective and 3 units of courses that may be credited as Business & Management (B&M) elective. Note that the students can only enroll in these electives if (1) they have satisfied the course prerequisites and (2) these courses have been approved by their respective program (registration) adviser.
Students must take 3 units of courses that may be credited as Track Elective/s. Note that the students can only enroll in this elective if (1) they have satisfied the course prerequisite/s and (2) these courses have been approved by their respective research (ChemE 143-144) adviser.
A student in senior standing may be allowed by the Department to take a maximum of six (6) units of graduate courses as electives if (1) the student has a GWA of 2.00 or better and (2) the student has satisfied the course prerequisites.
RULES ON SCHOLASTIC STANDING
A student is in good scholastic standing if, at the end of the semester, s/he obtains final grades of 3.00 or higher in at least 75% of the total number of academic units in which s/he is registered (including those units for which the student has incurred a grade of ‘DRP’, unremoved 4.00 and ‘Inc’).
